Need a Laugh?

I was looking through the ever growing blogs that I read and found this article that one of the fine ladies had posted. It was a link to an ebay page and after reading the post I laughed and laughed so hard! I so understand what this poor lady has been through. And I did stamp this week. Finally did a joined a swap. Spent the week agonizing over it, making it and sent it out...what ? Dang, forgot to take a picture of the card for y'all. Oops.

Rubbah!

New rubbah is in the house! My order came and I spent the evening mounting new sets. I've been such a bad slacker this week with cards. I hope that I can make it up this weekend with a flurry of card making. So stay tuned..we now return you to your normally scheduled program..lol

2-fer

Since I missed posting a card yesterday..ya get a 2-fer the price of one today. I'm still on a fall kick. Wishful thinking on my part to make the triple digit temps more bearable. It's just flat out HOT. I love fall the best of all the seasons. I didn't realize until I started cataloging my stamps how much I do love it. The crisp feeling in the air, the trees putting on their splendid colors, the smell of campfire in the air..whats not to love?

Card info:

left: cardstock- true thyme, chocolate chip, rose red, summer sun, and whisper white

stamps- acorn stamp around, pumpking from Fall for All, saying from A Season of Thanks

etc.- paper pieced, ribbon from Michaels and crystal stickles over the color pencils (gotta have a sparkle somewhere...)

right: cardstock- whisper white, real red, leaf paper from the scrapbook store

stamp-from stampendous

etc.- colored pencil and blended with gamsol, yellow stickles.. (someone stop me before I bling again)

and yes, I know, this one is not finished...still waiting for inspiration to strike

Eep!

Ack! Its monday and I don't have a card to post. I had the best intentions this weekend. Was going to stamp several cards so that I was ready for the week. I kept hoping my order would come from SU, but so far the little brown truck has not stopped at my door. Wah!!! I want new rubbah to play with. I didn't get much done other than the weekend marathon of laundry... I've been fighting a migrane for several days. I'm not fond of maxing out on aspirin. So also..maybe tomorrow I'll have something to share with ya'll. : (

Boo!

With temps between the 90's and 100's this week, I took out a few of my halloween stamps thinking of cooler weather. This is a quick (I love quick) 4x4 card. Once again, trying to use a different stamp set and use up stuff I have been hoarding forever. Let me know which one you like better. : )

Recipe:
cardstocks used-pumpkin , lovelylilac, basic black, white, green galore, and a sliver of old halloween paper from last year
Inks- black
etc- colored pencils, yellow stickles,fall ribbon from michaels, black brads and metal letters that I have no clue since I've had them since the dawn of time

Bah, humbug

Nope, its not Christmas and I'm not Scrooge. Just a card that I'm not thrilled with. But, once I start a card , no matter how hideous.. I make myself finish it before I go on to the next. Pure torture. The idea started out sounding fairly good, but the finished product just didn't do it for me. Oh, well, at least it was quick and easy...sorta.. I did kinda drag my feet as I realized it wasn't going to turn out as well as I thought.

I'm dying for my Su order to come in. Finally got a chance to get some of the new stuff....now where is that UPS man? New papers, new colors, new stamp sets....augh!!! On the bright side, I do have a better card to show tomorrow. A cute, quick halloween card that I did last night after we watched "Miss Potter" (which by the way is a cute movie)

Card info: Cardstock- Lovely Lilac, Barely Banana, Whisper White and a sliver of retired vellum with swirls

Sets- Shapes, Flower Factory and saying from a set I forgot, but will look up later

Odds and Ins- diamond stickers from hero arts (hey, its gotta have bling even if it is bad)

Happy Wednesday..half way there

Yes, half way through the first week of school! So far so good. Its always a fun adjustment to see how everything is going to work with everyone's schedules.

I'm still trying to work my way through my stamp sets. This one is an old set from way back. I'm sticking with the easy, fast cards (at least until the weekend,when I can spend a bit more time making harder cards) Enjoy.

just a quickie

I'm getting good at doing quickie cards. Life as usual is moving at speeds that would get me a ticket on the highway. I'm not sure it an be seen, but blingage on the flower center and butterfly. (I'm trying to make a non bling card...its hard!)

Monday, back to school

Its officially the beginning of the new school year. Thought I share this 'book' with you. The first photo is the card closed..ya can't tell it much but there is bling on the one of each spray of flowers and in the center of the medallion. 2nd picture is the card open. I was so fortunate to get to attend an event with several SCS ladies toward the beginning of the year and this card had been one that we made there.

fishy,very fishy

MyBig Sis this round sent me an adorable fish card. I love getting cards that I can can change around a bit . I've been dying to try out the cuttlebug bubble background, so this seemed a perfect time. Actually this was pretty quick to make. Colored the fishy with markers and prisma pencils and then just randomly sparkled him. : )

Simple and Easy part 2

I love paper. Unfortunately I am also a hoarder. That said I finally used some more of my chatterbox rooms paper. Simple, easy and quick. Gotta love fast cards.

Quick and easy

I love cards that can be done quick and fast. And even though the ribbon looks blue..its purple. I don't think I ever have enough thank you cards. My momma raised me to always get them out and get them out quickly. We are out running around today enjoy a tax free day for school supplies and school clothes. I can't believe how fast they have grown up.

Java part 2

Another take on one of Kindra's cards. I actually did a first on this. Paper pieced the dress (finally changed my blade in my xacto after 10 years) and it went quick as a wink. I love just about any stamp set with coffee, I freely admit it.. I'm an addict. I don't want a 12 step program to stop drinking that rich robust flavor. The best part of waking up is coffee in my cup ♫. Ok, so I'm rambling again.

Java!!

I needed a quick thank you card and since the person I'm sending it to is as much a coffee junkie as me, thought this would be just perfect! I am one of those people who stumbles downstairs in the morning and the first thing I do is start the coffee. I had never liked coffee growing up, enjoyed the smell but couldn't stand the beverage. Fast forward to college and found that pop didn't give me as much bang for my buck as coffee did...eureka! cheap study help, the light bulb went off over my poor student head and I was a firm convert to the dastardly elixer. Ah, I'll let you enjoy, while I go pour my cup.

Fall

My favorite season is fall. I love the crisp weather. Humidity finally breathes its last and the trees put on they're best colors. I just had to make this as I dreamed of cooler temperatures. sigh. The tab says, "give thanks", not sure if you can see it in the pic or not.

Where did the summer go? Where did all the wonderful lazy days disappear to? School for us starts up Aug. 6. Back into the fray we go. Ready for another crazy school year. Does anyone else wake up and realize they have been fastforwarded? I keep looking for the pause or rewind button, but so far no luck.

Challenge

Wow! We had a serious thunderstorm go over! Fried the internet for a bit. Good news, got it fixed, bad news can't run both computers anymore. Dh trouble-shot the problem and will get the new part soon. So I didn't actually post this to SCS, but this was the acetate challenge and sketch rolled into one. I only had a salad lid that I could cut down (hey, it worked) for the acetate. I'm just glad that we made it threw the storm without anything else getting fried. It really gives you a fright when the house alarm and smoke detectors go off..you know the lightening hit really, really close!! : )

2 more quickies

Ok, I know I should have waited until I colored the main images, but I'm on a roll here! These were 2 quick halloween cards a friend and I made last week. I finally have a stamping buddy!! Its so much nicer to have someone to chat with while stamping. I'm more of a social butterfly in that respect. I'm such a bad hoarder. I've been trying to make myself use different sets and use up what I have. (snort, yah, right, like thats ever going to happen) Hope you enjoy. If I get around to coloring these soon (was waiting till I had a pile of coloring to do and do it in front of the tv) will replace. Hope you enjoy.

A fly by posting

I finally sat down and did something. Ok, so it was a quick easy something..that I cased..but that counts. My Big Sister (from SCS) sent me a beautiful card. I didn't have the set she used so I pulled out my papertrey set and used that instead. Also I love bling..so put some stickles on the dots of the lady bug. I will actually have more posts in the next week. I was home ill yesterday and cranked out a record amount of cards.

See I can stamp

Here are a few things I did before we left for vacation. The butterfly was cased and changed a bit. The fathers day card was never sent (because I realized that I had forgotten to send out mothers day and didn't want anyone's feelings to be hurt.. I did call and talk on both days though). The good friends was an example of a set of 12 I did for a friend for her birthday. 3 different colors and different sayings on each. 2 cards of each type: like happy birthday, good friends, get well, etc.
I was hoping to get some done today, since its the perfect yucky day outside, but alas I woke up with hives. Blah!
