Here it is, the food. I have to admit I was impressed...this is the man who will go to Olive Garden and order the same dish. EVERY TIME! He did this in India also, went native, so to speak and mostly ate their food. What can I say, after 23 years, he still manages to amaze me!

Well, honey got back from China a few weeks ago. Sounds like it was a wild time! He found out that a friend that he hasn't seen in years was going to be there at the same time and they hooked up and caught up on everything. (we turned them onto Skype!) And he also ran into a guy he hasn't seen since he was in the military 20 years ago! How small a world is that?!? This building has the tallest observation tower in the world. There are glass floors at the top so you could look down...so not something I would do! I could get up there, but would avoid those like the plague!

At night everything was lit up. They were having a huge celebration on one of the weeks he was there. He ate, for the most part, native foods. There were several of the students that took him around to different restaurant's to sample the local fare.

Wow! Where did the time go? I have been such a bad blogger. My only excuse is that I lost my craft room. Its gone..history...dream that once was.

We still haven't moved, in fact, eldest daughter moved back home (answer to prayer that) and has decided to go to college. Middle daughter started college, youngest started high school. We live a very disorganized life, dh is sometimes home for a week and then gone for a week. He is heading out this fall to Shanghai and Japan. (we get to go with him to Japan!)

Also with eldest moving back we are up to 3 cats in the house. And dh, for our anniversary, wanted a Puggle. (pug/beagle mix) We are now the proud owners of a cute, if somewhat untrained puppy. I'm so glad that the downstairs is tile and pergo..makes clean up while we potty train so much easier.

I'm hoping to be able to stamp soon, I've rigged my long table in my bedroom (which will probably have to go if we put the house on the market) but for now, I'm clinging to my little patch of stamping heaven. My stamp spending, um, collecting has slowed down considerably, since I have no room to house it until I use it. I keep telling myself ; now is a good time to use up all those designer papers, brads, ribbons, buttons, etc that I've been hoarding all these years. Cause there just ain't room for it now!

Anywho, just a quick update and hopefully will be posting cards soon.

Yes, I'm still here. Haven't had much time for blogging/stamping in the past few months. So much has happened. DH retired/new job/location change. Middle daughter graduated from high school. House to clean/fix ready to sell(and let me tell you..junk reproduces in porportion to how long it has been left unsupervised). My poor craft room sits there abandoned and alone, filled with extra boxes of junk I need to go through. Luckily...the end of the tunnel is in sight and I plan on getting back into the stamp of things next week. The dust will finally settle for a bit and allow me time to get some cards stamped! (my stash is horribly depleted..I've been resorting to cards from work!) So cross off the 'fell off the earth' theory..I'll be posting soon.

My mother is a quilter, a very good quilter. She has tried over the years to make me see the light and come to the fat quarter side of things, but I have never had the patience for this craft. I cross stitch (of which it may take years to finish a project, if it does get finished...) but a quilt is a big investment. I was thinking about her this week( since I forgot to call her this last weekend) and had seen a card similar to this(actually think it was on Nicole's blog) and knew I had to make one to send to her.

I have a great Secret Sister this round, who has sent me some really cute images! I got this one in the mail this week and had to use it. Again, bittersweet paper, the image and the hearts are from my SS. This is one of those quick and easy cards. Love when they go together in under 10 minutes. I'm so glad that Valentine's day is almost over. I'm ready for some different colors. : )

Well, I almost made it a whole week posting.. and then fell of the planet for a week. Got to go to the mall crawling last week with my girls and a great friend. We stopped at Archivers and actually restrained ourselves! Then this last weekend the girls and I went to an incredible concert, Winter Jam. I had forgotten how loud girls can scream when a boy band comes on stage...Hawk Nelson. I, of course, was waiting patiently for Toby Mac to hit the stage. He put on an awesome show! The girls got all the guys in Hawk Nelson to sign their t-shirts and got Brandon Heaths autograph. Anywho, I did get to stamp a few times this week, so posts today and tomorrow. This girl has been sitting on my desk for the past 3 weeks, colored and ready to find a card to go on. I had finally gotten the bittersweet (basic grey) paper in the mail and wanted to try it out. I'm kinda strange about paper pads, I make myself use the patterns I like the least first, to savor the ones I like the best, last. I wonder if there is a name for that disease...lol

To bling or not to bling, that is the question. Whether 'tis nobler in the hearts of stampers...

I just couldn't make up my mind whether I liked the card with or without sparkle. So I did it both ways. I'm working my way through using up as much of my hoard as I can.(hence the square crystals,button, hemp and dp) Other than my declutter resolution (which is coming along just fine) I'm resolved to use up a bunch of the hoard I have in my craft room. Its time for it to see the light of day and be used!!! I don't want to have to move all this stuff. So, every chance I get, I'm up there making stuff and using it up. I dread having to go through my scrapbooking stuff also, luckily its not as out of control as my stamping.

We recently had some very cold temps for the south. I didn't mind it too much being a transplant..but did bemoan the fact that if it was going to be so cold..there had better be snow on the ground. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate. But it gave me a great opportunity to break out this cute snowman and bear to try out. I made this card for my secret sister over on SCS. Isn't he so cute!! I waver between quick and practical stamping. It must be a bi-polar craft thing. Oh, and if you like blogs check out my fav found here. A Moment of Silence

My dh, bless his heart, is a man of few needs. He doesn't hunt, fish, watch car races, woodwork or golf. His hobbies are simple and few. Yesterday we said goodbye to his baby, his refuge that when he got under foot and 3 women were on the rag at the same time and he needed a safe harbour from the raging hormones he would go and she would comfort him. So please, a moment of silence in respect for the mourning. Her new owner seemed quite giddy to have her (and managed to lock himself out of her his drive home). Hopefully in the future he will have another sweetheart like her, but it won't ever be the same as the first one. : )

Here is the last of my Christmas cards that I sent out this last year. There were actually 2 types of this card, the other had Santa on the front, same type, same colors, same Bat channel. I had meant to post this way back when, but due to the problem of me having children and they not having their Christmas present of their own camera, my batteries where dead. Again. Now glorious bliss, my camera can survive day after day without being subjected to a million shots for click happy teenagers and funny poses. And now another subject:

Bad, bad blogger am I. What have I been doing? Not much stamping, I can tell you that. I just started back in on it this last week. Did I make a New Year's resolution this year? YUP! For the first time, yes. And its one that I'm actually going to keep. (not that I have much choice in the matter) The resolution was to declutter and dejunk my house. Have to because we are moving and the house has to be 'staged' to sell in this current financial climate. We started out going room by room. Then when we hit the master bedroom (aka the junk drop room) we hit a major roadblock. Did you know that if you leave receipts and records alone..they will mulitiply in proportion to the time left there? We're talking 23 years of ALL receipts, checks, paystubs, bill receipts..dang it.. I kept everything! (by the way, thanks Mom for that packrat gene) I'm on my 2nd shredder and am seriously considering having a big bon fire. Ok, enough of my ranting and ravings. The house actually is beginning to look better than it has in years and the decluttering is such a liberating experience. On the craft front, I will have cards back up starting Monday. I need to start dejunking that room this weekend. But I have started to stamp again just to stay sane. See y'all Monday.

I totally forgot to post yesterday. What can I plead? Ignorance, too busy, forgot. I'm not sure. Possibly because my brain melted when we called the DMV after morning class and found out my middle child is taking her driving test tomorrow. Ok, I got it, I'm pleading temporary insanity! So I decided to use some images I had colored last year and had left sitting. Couldn't decide which dp paper I like better, not even sure I liked it...but here it is. Card deets: Cardstock-true thyme, real red, su dp from a couple years ago. Stamp set-Christmas cardinal (SU), Take a Bough (PTI). Ink-palette black, image colored with pencils and stickles added in the center of flower. Accessories- red organdy ribbon

Well, I have been a christmas card crazed stamper lately. The last couple of days have managed to crank out about 20 cards. I'm going for getting about 8 done a day this week and I'll be set. Of course being the strange compulsive person I am, they all have to be different each day. So good for you in that I'll be posting for this week every day. Stay warm..its cold out there!

No card today, just a quick blurb about how thankful I am for family and friends. We are so blessed to live in this country. We watched and read in horror at the attack on the Taj in Mumbai. My dh had been there earlier this year and his screen saver is the pic he took of the horses in the front of the Taj. I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving and count your blessings!

Just got back from visiting family on the other side of the country. It was so good to see everyone and see how the nieces and nephews have grown! We had a fabulous meal at my sister's house. Everyone was in charge of bringing something. My dad and I were in charge of deserts: cream cheese pie and drunk pumpkin cake that I got here. Let me just say the pumpkin cake was incredible!!
I haven't been posting much lately since we are in the process of getting our house ready to sell. Yup, after 20 years of living here we are heading out to the next stage of our lives and a new state. So posting for a while is going to be touch and go. I do have a bunch of Christmas cards to make so I'll hopefully have those to post.

Brr! It is actually cold this morning! Freeze warning. Last week had some stamping friends over and this is the card I massed (ok, only 4) produced. Got started on some Christmas cards recently. Had colored the images last year but finally put them to paper this year. Same recipe, different colors. Ah, the things that give spice to life. Speaking of...my middle daughter went on a Zombie Walk last night. What a great excuse to shred some old clothes and put fake blood all over you. Fall is finally here! The temps are perfect and the leaves are beginning to change. I'm so excited that I've finally gotten back into the stamping mood. (and found some time) My wonderful stamping buddy had the basket set (I don't remember the name of it) and she let me stamp a bunch of them for later use. We're getting ready to paint the downstairs family room and possible part of the upstairs rooms. Dh is going to pressure wash the house this weekend. Yup, its fall. I love Riley stamps! They are soo fun! I was so blessed to have my bestest stamping buddy come over last night, we got more laughing and talking than stamping done, but sometimes that is so needed. I pulled out this old set from SU, it's from '96, but I realized why I didn't like the cornicopia die from this set...its too hard for me to color well. Oh well, we live but to try, try, try again. Such is our madness in stamping.

Imagination

So its a beautiful day today, we'll probably be getting buckets of rain tomorrow from the hurricane in florida, but for today its nice out. We've been watching the Olympics and last night talked about which event we could see ourselves doing if we had the ability. It was fun to "imagine" for a bit, like when we were kids. Where did all that fun go? I know that the swing set in my backyard growing up was more than that. It was a pirate ship, a rocket, a wagon crossing the prairie to Oregon, and a few times the bridge on the starship Enterprise. Our imaginations took us so many places then. Anywho, enough ramblings of a caffiene deprived person. On to the card, I love making the ants "walk" across the bottom:

Ok, so I couldn't take it anymore. I had seen so many stinking cute version of this bag and finally broke down and tried it. Super easy-peasy! I can't believe that I didn't try it before! I broke down and got that cute dripping goo punch from Martha Stewart. Michael's has been surprising me lately with good craft finds. Teenagers

My youngest has a birthday coming up, she quietly came into my craft room yesterday and asked when we were making her announcements. This year she picked going to the mall with all her bff's for her birthday. She saw the little birthday Elzybell and wanted to use her and the ribbon you see on the card. Whatdoyaknow...she can stamp, and color and put together a pretty nice card. (ok, I had to cut the nestibilities) Card deets: Cardstock-white, green galore, summer sun, ballet blue (?). Just a quick entry today. When my friend and I went to the stamp store the other day I picked up some Elzybells. I have been dying for some of these and was so excited that this store had them. So the other day stamped up several of the letter writing girl. This turned out quick and fast. Another day in the oven that is the southeast. It has been hot lately! The kids have been doing the end of the year bubble test (remember those?) , one more day and we're done! We're going to celebrate and be bad and eat at McDonald's. yum, all that fat, sodium and empty calories! Why does all the bad food taste so good? Anywho, I had seen a card similar to this on a blog. I fell in love with the boards and beams set from Papertrey, but haven't really gotten a chance to play with it much. I love coloring with copics but have found it hard with to color in small spaces. (hence the right side of the house looks like the porch support is broken) Oh well, it wouldn't be Monday if something wasn't broke. lol Card deets: cardstock-mellow moss, plum pudding, white. TGIF! I'm so glad that its Friday. What a blast we had yesterday. My stamping buddy and I did a field trip up to Archivers and a fabulous stamp store, Rubber Stamp Fantasy. I restrained myself well in the Archivers, but when I hit the stamp store (and I had a $15 gift card to spend there) restraint went out the window. They had several stamps that I had been wanting for some time and I didn't have to order them!! We also stopped at IKEA for a quick bit to eat and a few supplies for the home and her new craft room. It was so much fun. I only get up to the stamp store about once every couple of years.

I don't know why I'm fixated on winter. Probably because someone turned the dial to broil outside. I am sooo ready for cooler temps, say anything below 90, heck, I'll even take 80. I finally got my issues settled with my photos. Yes! Anyway, do y'all remember the last musical that Fred Astaire was in? Finian's Rainbow. Well in it, they sang a song that had a lot of begats.. so:
It all started with this example...so I had to try it, made it smaller and changed the saying on the circle. Then is morphed into: Then, I had these cute Halloween brads that I found at Michael's at all places and had to try out.

By now, I was having too much fun with the card layout.
Well, that led to try out the winter brads and led to this! And of course I had to put stickles on it too!

One card begat another and another. Let's hope the madness never stops. On a good note, I did get to try out several of my new Riley's (grin)

Issues

I am just having issues this morning. I stoically resisted throwing the desktop out the window. My dilemma is this. My camera software is on the desktop. My wonderful dh has put the security so high on said desktop that I can download my pictures, but cannot log into my blog. On my laptop, I can get into my blog, but have no software to crop my pictures (hence the little card and huge picture) I even tried to email the pictures to myself already cropped from the main puter, but can't even get into my email. He's going to have to change those settings when he gets home....but that means for right now you get the huge picture. Grr. Wow! Has it been awhile since I've blogged. I didn't realize so much time had passed. It has been a crazy last month. We start back to school in 2 short weeks. Wah! Where did the summer go? Its so great to be home! I love going on vacation, but I also love the feeling of being home and able to sleep in one's own bed. I've actually been back a few days but have been recovering from the vacation. Did I mention I stepped through a small snow hole that was hiding a rock? Well, lets just say I'm still swollen and hobbling around(nice 8 inch bruise and scrape), and to add insult to injury my other leg has a huge bruise around my ankle/foot from playing catcher at a baseball game the next day barefoot. I'm just that talented. So I've been propped up letting everything heal. So here is a card that was supposed to be shown last week (yes, its another case from something I saw), but I had in reserve for times like this. : ) I don't have the deets, but will put them on when I can hobble upstairs again.

We have had deer walking past our windows for the past few days. The deer are fearless around here. There was a cute little fawn last night with its mother, the baby hadn't even losts its spots yet. Later on was another doe with a young buck. This morning a few more were walking past and one is bedded down right now to the left of the window. Volcanic fun

This is the view from the top of a cindercone looking toward Mt. Bachelor. It was so windy up there! But we had a blast walking around it. Next we went to the Obsidian flow fields. The trail went through snow a few times and I found out first hand that not all snow is packed down well, some just covers lightly over an empty spot. I have a wonderful bruise/scrapped leg about the size of a baseball. The hike was breathtaking though!!
The rocks in the foreground are pumice, brown and black obsidian. We also visited a couple lakes at around 6400 ft above sea level. One had a waterfall that we hiked to see.

Well what a day we had at the airport. The good news..we made it to the west coast, the bad news, wrong place on the west coast. But everything worked out in the end. The weather couldn't be better! Hopefully when this posts (if I did it right) I'll be so many thousands of feet up in the air heading to cooler temps and loads of family. (pod?gaggle?gang...ah, got it...tribe!) I was in a bit of a rush to take the pics in between getting everyone packed. This is one of my favorite things in the world! Coffee! I wish there was some way I just could be hooked up to an iv line in the morning to coffee. lol I tried out one of those tri-fold cards a while back. Couldn't find the magnetic snaps in my area of stamping siberia, so used velcro. I paperpieced the dress of the lady from the same dp as the main card, just a smaller print. I'm hopelessly addicted to seascapes. I so need to weed out some and give them to new homes. But I don't see that happening in the forseeable future. Number one priority is getting everything ready for a mass migration to the west coast next week for a family reunion. Yup reruns...the most memoriable thing about growing up was that summer was reruns.. no new shows until fall. Some have stood the test of time (M*A*S*H) others you have totally forgotten about. I'm not a bright color person. I like neutrals, earth tones, but I was in the mood to use up this chatterbox room paper. This particular card went out as a get well to my mom. She has been under the weather for a while now, and will be on the road to recovery for several weeks.

In less than 24 hours my house is about to be turned upside down again. Our eldest daughter is coming home to stay for a bit. This is something that we have hoped and prayed for. The upside down part is... I lose my craft room. When I first started stamping I could fit everything in a shoe box. Then a craft tote, then my wonderful dh got me a stamping cabinet for Christmas and all my stamps fit in it. Now...I have to figure out how to get everything into a 4 ft section of the living room (I can't pack 'em away and live with out them...hello!) I'm putting all my scrapbooking stuff in my bedroom, since I don't usually scrap unless I'm at a retreat or crop. And all the stuff that has been dumped in the craft room for storage has to find a place to live. (its so funny when the kids clean up the downstairs..it all ends up in my craft room and I slowly redistribute it to the right persons room, who promptly takes it back downstairs, and is then told to clean it up; and back up to the craft room it goes....vicious cycle! Ok, after a long virus scan, rebooting and cursing the computers ancestry, we got the main computer up and running. So I'm starting with the blurriest picture first. Another victim of the kids. Did you ever notice that things are used up in proportion to amount of teenage girls in the house? I have a wonderful digital camera that is usually guarded carefully against such incursions from said teenagers, but alas in my dwindling years I forgot to put it away and they, in their youth, drained my batteries. When I downloaded it this morning I found that my normally sane teenagers had taken a boatload of funny faced pictures of themselves. That answers my question of why they were laughing hysterically in their room the other night after we had gone to bed. Silliness begets silliness. So this was the last picture I got out of my camera before it gave up the ghost. Well, battery ghost, they are currently getting their charge put back in and I am looking for a better hiding place for the camera. We went to see Kung Fu Panda. It was a cute, funny movie. A whole pod of teenagers went. Gaggle? Herd? I wonder what the appropriate designation for that would be, anywho, a large group of girls and boy and pimples went and laughed their heads off, and then as the credits were rolling the boys jumped up and started doing shadow figures on the screen. We laughed even harder as they did a improptu 2 minutes dialogue.

I uploaded my pictures this morning on the main computer in preparation of uploading to my blog. Guess what..it won't connect to the internet. We've had problems getting virus's into it due to the kids surfing. I need to load my camera's software on my laptop, but guess what...I can't find it. OMG! Did you see the playoff game last night? Triple overtime and the Penguins pulled off a win!! I almost hyperventilated! We are a family of just a bit crazed hockey fans. Our team didn't make it to the playoffs, so we picked our next favorites as the playoffs went into full swing. Chocolate. You can never have too much. What can I say? I made a few of these chocolate holders this weekend. They are so simple to make and fun to give. Busy weekend. Middle child went to Six Flags, youngest had her bff's spending the night each night. I can't believe that we are in June already. Half the year gone! Anywho grab a piece of 8x 11 paper, cut length wise 3 3/4ths inch twice and make two of these great holders. Score 3 3/4ths for first and a bit less the other way for second score.

We used to live near a town that had a Lilac festival (parade, race and etc) every year and I loved when these beautiful flowers would come in bloom. It meant that winter was finally over and I could look forward to not having to shovel any more snow. I had purchased this set a while back (ie when it first came out) and this is the first time it has seen ink. Shame, shame. I had seen a card similar to the what I made but added a vellum saying, brads and clip. What is the saying, "Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery." ? I read so many blogs and galleries I have trouble remembering where I see everything. My blog roll is up to 122 that I peruse in the evening when my dh is watching yet another episode of cage fighting (wire cutters anyone?). Since that is not my cup of tea..and he can't watch that by himself...I blog surf and gallery surf.

I got to play this weekend a bit inbetween laundry and such. I have a hard time getting started lately... I really need to clean up my craft room. I had my Mother-in-law's card done early. My Mom's card...well, I had stamped and colored the main image ages ago but couldn't decide how to finish it up. Yesterday I finally finished it. I didn't forget the blog candy. I'm just a bit slow. Friday came and went and we are done!! Finished, finito, I have sung and another school year is in the books. Our Memorial Day tradition, when we lived on the west coast was my fathers family would get together at the eldest sisters house, spend the time catching up on each others lives and on Memorial Day we would drive to the family cemetery and clean up, plant and whatever else needed to be done to my grandparents graves.

I made this card for one of my bff's who's birthday is today. We've been friends through thick and thin for the past almost 20 years. We've crafted together, raised kids together, gone camping together (and learned not to run in the dark), laughed, and cried together. She has a passion for horses and works at a equine center, so I knew I had to make a birthday card that reflected her passion. I had been seeing so many cards made in tri-folds, so I had to try it myself.

Its a snap! No, not really. It would have been a snap, but I kept trying to improve my coloring. I had so much fun with this though. I had this CM star cutter thing that hadn't been used since I got it years ago. I so would love to go to the beach, but alas, we must get school finished by next week. I have all our curriculum for next year...I love the feel of new books! The kids groaned when it came in the brown truck, but by the middle of june/july they start getting antsy to get started again. I can't believe my middle daughter is going to be a senior next year!! I am not that old, I am not that old. (if I say it enough times, it must be true...lol)

I'm beginning to subscribe to the theory that we have a sock monster in the house. We clean out rooms, shoes, the laundry room and still are short socks. I recently purchased a 10 pair pack of socks. When laundry was done and we split the washed socks up between the 3 of us girls, I got one pair, ONE! A total of 3 pairs went through...where did the other 7 pairs go? Obviously the sock monster struck again! I can hardly wait for summer when the kids wear flip-flops all the time...cause the socks are going to be mine then and I won't have to go to work with the same socks I had the day before. Bawahaha!

Anywho, my wonderful friend Tonna gave me this card the other day. I love it and am going to have to case it of course!! I love classy cards that look like they took forever, but are a snap to put together. And I just got the oval punch...sounds like just the chance for it to be broken in. *grin*

Stationary and whatnot

So I sat down the night before the kids bowling awards ceremony and decided to make the officers (all ladies) a thank you gift. I had been wanting to try those dp paper coasters for a while and also make a matching pen for them. Then I started thinking again (crazy, twice in one night..its soo not like me) and thought matching notecards would be nice...and then, packaging. Well, I had kept the plastic boxes the PTI sets came in thinking they would hold note cards. Yep, they do, though my envies didn't quite fit. So here are the four sets I made. Note to self, don't wait till the last minute, especially when the Stanley cup playoffs are going and your team is playing it makes it so hard to concentrate. An example of the 4 different note cards in each. I tried to get a pic of the coaster/post it note holder/pen, but it came out blurry. The last pic has an example of full set.
And in yellow.
And purple.
And a coral red.

The whole enchilada. Each set looked like this, except the band around the box. After I did this, I looked at it and realized it looked better at the top, but couldn't move this as had used some really strong glue (wow!) The dp was Chatterbox rooms (2 sided paper of course, solid and print) that I had stashed away, I just matched it up with SU paper. Ribbon was scraps I had left in my scrap box, ink matched the Su paper.

It's Monday again. I can't believe how fast the weekend went. I didn't get any stamping done of course, with it being the homeschool conference weekend. Had a good sale of old books and ordered all my curriculum for next year. Still thinking about that Japanese program though, my daughter doesn't need it to graduate,( it wouldn't even count for school) its just something she wanted to do. This weekend also started a new round of Secret Sisters on SCS. If you have never tried this, I urge you to. Its so neat to make cards and send gifts to another person as crazed as you are about stamping. I usually spend my time at craft stores looking for stuff I can get for my secret sister. I have had this MFT set for some time now, and I keep meaning to use it. I saw a card similar to this on someones blog. And I thought ok, now I have a reason to use this!! So, its Thursday eh? Almost through another week. Do you realize that we are 1/4 of the way through 2008? Gads, where did the time go? One more month of school and then 2 months of freedom!! Anywho, a secret sister I had last year sent me a challenge to make a card from the materials she had mailed me. And like the good procrastinator that I am, set it aside, took it out to look at it from time to time and finally sat down (6 months or so later) and made something. Wow! What a day! Note to my husband, its a dangerous thing to give me a mallet. hee hee. It just reminded me of the Olympics in Washington. Ok, ready for a trip back! Ok, got the problem fixed and everything loaded back on the laptop. A nice drizzly rainy Monday here. But we have a beautiful bush in the back yard blooming its heart out. I think it might be a Cherokee Rose bush. Not totally sure. Anywho, this first card I received as a RAK. I loved it and set it aside in the hopes of casing it at some point. Weeks go by, I'm waiting for the "Out on a Limb" set to come back in stock. Waiting, waiting. Finally get it and realize I have no idea where I put the card to case. (if you've ever seen my craft room, you'd understand why, on a good day it only looks like a natural disaster has gone through) This is my take on it. I was thinking cherry blossoms. Also was having issues with my embossing powder....shesh, just cause it's over 10 years old doesn't mean it has to act like this. *grin*

I got this fabulous birthday card from a friend on the PTI board. Its made from a brown bag and has a saying and insert that holds a tea bag on the inside (have a par-"tea").

I got these cute little guys from The Cat's Pajamas and couldn't resist their lure to put them to ink. Took the kids to play tennis yesterday. Working with them on their backhand and serving. I remember in high school and college how my friends and I would play tennis for hours!! (of course I was a lot more fit then..sigh) Anywho..back to the wild west.

Augh! That horrible disease has hit again. Stampers block... it always seems to happen after a scrapbooking weekend. I wonder if there is a link? Some cosmic tear in the universe? Many friends have looked at me strangely when I mention that I don't stamp in my scrapbooks. Let me preference that. I was a CM consultant for 7 years...so think tons of scrapbook stuff. I have collected stamps and stamping stuff since 1997. I usually crop at retreats. I would probably need a semi to transport my stuff if I combined. (insert eyes bulging out here...lol) Anywho, enough rambling about my codependent tendencies with my craft addiction, er, hobby. I found these cute guys when I was up in Washington state. I was so bummed, we went to a scrapbook store that always had the neat things we don't get here in outer siberia (not really siberia..just crafting siberia) and they acutally disappointed..except...they had these cute penguins. So, I made it to the west coast and back to the east. I love coming home to my own bed, a clean house (and yes, I am weird about that.. I go on a cleaning frenzy before I go on any trip) and mail!! Sorry no card today, I'm still on the west coast and am flying home today with my kiddies. What a wild scrapbooking weekend we had though! We had a great time visiting family and getting to craft. My fingers are itching to get back at stamping though. Almost got caught up to this year in my scrapbook at the retreat. Anywho...hang in there for a bit and I'll get something up in a day or so.

Boxed In..

I wanted to try out the new PTI dp paper with the explosion box. I love this new paper and how wonderful it folds, nice and crisp. The last few projects have featured the set from PTI "Out On A Limb".... I place the blame solely on a fabulous RAK I got several weeks ago from Lynn. I love the card so much I had to get the set (way to enable me..). I'm loving it!

I'm enjoying visiting with my family. We have hit a couple of scrap/stamp stores, and I have only bought 3 things. I kept thinking..hm, I need new PTI/MFT/Riley Moose/Copics and Dewdrops from Ellen. I had to laugh, because everything I needed/wanted is only available (at least in my area) on-line. The only thing I bought (and I let out a squeal of delight when I saw them) were those cute penguin kids that I had seen on someone blog and one piece of matching paper. I was a bit disappointed, because one of the scrap stores last time carried the small slabs of Basic Grey paper and this time only had a few individual. Wah! Don't they know I live in the craft wastleland and have to order everything? Coming to the west coast is supposed to be the mecca of crafters! Ok, going to stop rambling now and finish drinking my Kona coffee.

This post is a bit later than usual this morning...on the wrong coast. We flew to the west coast last night (and boy, are our arms tired!) We had actually planned on flying out today, but the flights were all full, so we slipped out yesterday. Gives the girls extra days to play with their cousins. Got a call at 4:46am from hubby, saying that he had just landed at JFK from India safely. Anywho..I know, way too much rambling...just put it down to not much sleep, eating Taco Time just before bed and not enough coffee. So this is the first criss-cross card that I have attempted. I know, I know what has taken me so long to try it? Bear with me.. I'm a slow learner.

Strawberry fields

I have seen so many cute cards with strawberries on them, I had to do one. This is the right time of the year to get fresh juicy strawberries and I love 'em. We usually go to a local farmer and pick them ourselves. He opens in a couple of weeks.

I found some Daisy D's paper that I had stashed away (read= hoarded) and decided it was time for it to see the light of day. Ditto on the organdy ribbon that I seem to have too much of, remember when it was all the rage several years ago? Well, I need to use it up! I've been in the pull it out, use it up mood lately. Which is great and someday the clutter that is my craft room will be nice and clean- not!

I'm getting ready for a scrapbooking retreat weekend with my sisters and Mom. Spent most of last evening sorting and power laying out my photos. But on the plus side...if I get them all done.. I'll be caught up. Woohoo! (at least until my dh downloads his pictures from India)

Technique la week late

So last week I loved the Monday technique that was on SCS, but as life would have it, didn't get around to it until Sunday. Being sometimes anal, I decided to make it as much like the original of Rose Ann's as possible, but blinged..of course ( pierce it or bling it..I'm putting that on my tombstone). So the bottom pic is the original (except saying and bling) and top is a bit more. Yes, I did branch out and do one that wasn't a case, but you're just going to have to wait later in the week for that. I loved this technique! Making it was easy peasy, but I think I'll invest in some magnetic things like she had, I only had velcro and it make it bumped out a bit

Card deets: Cardstock- River Rock, Groovy Guava, Whisper White and Ginger (I think) dp. Stamps- Embrace Life (SU), Blessings (Papertrey). Inks- Palette Black Noir, image colored with SU markers, copics and glitter copics. Accessories- paper piercer, bling, stickles, nestabilities, window punch, and ribbon.

Purple haze

Not really, more of a green one in our area. The pollen was off the charts Friday as I drove home through green/yellow pollen clouds. It looked like smog, but was all pollen, that wonderful stuff of watery eyes and runny noses. Anywho, this card is a late entry in the sketch challenge (SC169) Card deets: Cardstock- basic black, whisper white, purfect plum, random dp I had laying around. I got a wonderful package from my secret sister this last weekend. In it was this cute little duck. Its been a crazy week so far. And looks to keep being nuts until saturday. Card deets: Cardstock- Only orange, whisper white, old (like when dinosaurs roamed the earth) SU designer paper. Ink-palette black noir, image colored with su markers and copics. Stamps- saying from papertrey, duck from big sis (don't know the company off hand). Accessories- ribbon, paper piercer, primas, crystal brads, scallop scissors and white gel pen.

I've been trying to use up the hoards of design paper I have. I figured Riley could make any flower grow (unlike me) so put him with this. I had a boo-boo with the sentiment..hence the white overlay...not a great day stamping for me.. sigh

Yup, the word that strikes fear in the hearts of those who like to sleep in. (me, raises hand). Got up at 5am and hit the floor running. Had my first store changed over by 11. Run back home with lunch for the family and then this afternoon take dh to the airport and back to the next store changeover. Yee haw. So without further ado..a quick card for Monday. Riley is such a cute, cute moose! I'm such a sucker for animal stamps. It poured buckets here yesterday, so it was a good time to go up and stamp something...too icky a day to go outside. I pulled out an old card that I did several years ago. Yes, I know..bad me. ( American Idol was on last night and I didn't get to stamp) But, its close to Easter and I'd thought it appropriate. I have redone this card several times over the years. I love it best with a nice dark purple as the base color.

I'm just loving the Cat's Pajamas western stamps I got. This is the 2nd card I attemped from them. Yup, that sheriff has some serious bling on his belt buckle! I totally forgot to post Friday! No, it's not a sign of old age..I just plum forgot. Dh smoked some chicken for dinner that night that was heavenly! I think that has got to be one of the best Christmas presents I have gotten him so far. He loves using that thing and I love how easy it makes meal time for me. *grin* Saturday got to celebrate a friend's 50th birthday! We hadn't been to an "adult"party for over a long, long time! It was incredible. Lots of food, live band, etc! And to top it off he's taking her to Vegas baby! How cool is that! Any who, in the midst of all that.. I didn't stamp this weekend! Had a few moments this morning before the kiddos woke up to play with today's sketch. Is to the smell of coffee! Its the only thing to get one going in the morning. I easily gave up ice cream when I became lactose intolerant, but coffee..that one I would fight tooth and nail for. Java, java, java. On a totally different note, my eldest baby decided that she wants to get married and we met his mom last night for the first time. Discussed a few wedding plans. Cue the birds singing, a ray of sunshine coming down and touching my house, deer bounding through the back yard. Yup, that's exactly what its doing right now. *grin* Anywho, I am over the dreaded horrible flu. My daughter who decided to share the experience and get it at the same time is just about well also. Let me tell you..you haven't lived until you have shared the flu bug with a teen. We were both miserable on the couch together. It was a tender bonding moment full of phlem and cough drops. Oh, I fought the good fight..used gallons of Lysol..but those little buggers got me. I succumbed to the flu bug last night...full force. High temps, coughing, body ache...yeehaw. I feel like death warmed over..which one has to admit is a strange feeling. I'm so sick that I don't (gasp) want to stamp (and I have new Papertray calling out to me) or surf blogs. Even the Samoan girlscout cookies my dh brought home for me didn't make a blip in my radar. Let me preference one more thing before my drug induced rambling continues. I don't get sick! I've only been to the doctor 3 times in the last 12 years. I have so totally forgotten what flu feels like. Ok, on to my ramblings.. since I feel so terrible I'm showing a card that I had previously decided not to post. I didn't feel that it was that great. It's a 3 x 3 card. A quicky. Spent the morning driving to and from the doctors. I finally am home. We cut up 38 equal pieces of paper with the numbers and a very impartial judge, ( my dh..wondering what I'm doing) reached his hand in the bucket and pulled out #37.... Angel W! You are the winner! Ah, got coffee in hand and life is good. Time to start the morning. Watched American Idol last night. We don't watch too much prime time tv and we just tuned in to AI in the last 2 years. Its so funny to hear everyone in our family going around voicing their opinions after the "professional judges" get done with theirs. Do we vote? No, but we do let the kids vote for one person each time. That said, we return you to your regularly scheduled dose of stamping. Please put your tray tables in their full and upright lock position. *grin* I was surfing SCS as I am oft to do and ran across this, which again..I changed a bit. This card went together fast...love that in a card.

Yippee! Half-way through the week. So over the regular doctor visits. I am done being the human pin, poke, prod cushion. I'm never listening to myself again in that it would be a good idea to get a physical, women's yearly and mammagram done in the same day. What was I thinking? (actually that was one of the questions..do you suffer from memory loss? ah, no..just bad judgement some time..total brain farts) Anywho..on to the card. Wow! It was so beautiful last yesterday! Warm, sunny, almost like spring. As I sit here typing I can hear the deluge of water coming from my downspout. Yup, its raining...hard! My dh was up on the roof Sunday trying to fix a leak that we've had for years and he tries to fix from time to time. Thought I'd share something since I got to stamp today!! We still only have the youngest down with flu and are hoping the rest of us will be able to dodge this bullet and not get it. After lunch got to sneak upstairs to my craft room, put in Stargate SG-1 and start stamping. (yes, I have to have background noise/movie going) Here is a quick and easy card.
